A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during redevelopment works at the former Welland Motor Factors site, at North Street, Stamford. The monitoring revealed that the construction of the former motor factors building had resulted in the complete truncation of the earlier subsoil deposits in this area, and only late post-medieval building remains and cellars were encountered. {1}{2}
