Description
A programme of building recording was conducted after the rediscovery of a brick-built burial vault under the ruins of East Wykeham Church. The vault was built by the Child family in 1864, and has four burial chambers in use. The vault matches most of the dimensions of the present overlying church ruins, suggesting they were constructed as a folly immediately after the vault's construction, though probably incorporating fragments from an earlier church on the site. {1}{2}
