A programme of historic building survey was conducted to inform the proposed conversion to housing of The White Horse, at West Street, Alford. The building is a former public house and hotel, thought to date in its earliest part to the 17th century, with large 19th century extensions and alterations. Most of the interior was renovated and modernised throughout the 20th century, and little evidence of historic features survives inside. {1}{2}
