Description

A scheme of archaeological monitoring was conducted during the groundworks for the installation of new services to the rear of The Old Vicarage, Church Street, Caistor. Yard surfaces of probable 19th century date were revealed underneath modern made ground and garden soil layers. Beneath the yard surfaces lay a possible medieval buried soil layer, which itself overlay a possible Romano-British demolition deposit of stone rubble, brick and tile fragments. {1}{2}
