A magnetometry survey was conducted to inform the proposed construction of an anaerobic digester unit on land off Old Leys Lane, Willoughton. Magnetic anomalies relating to modern activity and disturbance were recorded, along with a probable pit-like feature, a probable former field boundary and a larger amorphous feature, thought to be the possible remains of a former pit, hollow or pond. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this area confirmed the presence of the pit and field boundary, but resolved the larger amorphous feature as a probable palaeochannel of natural origin (see ELI12637).
