Description
Ten trenches were excavated as part of an archaeological evaluation, undertaken in advance of development on the site of a former nursery at Penny Hill Road, Holbeach. Several sherds of medieval, post-medieval and modern pottery were found with animal bones and tile, leading to the interpretation that they formed part of a manuring scatter. {1}{2}
