Description

A single trial trench was excavated to inform the proposed construction of a children's play area at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, Lincoln. The trenching revealed the original layers and surfaces of a military parade ground, constructed as part of the building's original use in 1857 as barracks for the North Lincolnshire Militia. The trenching also recorded the adaptations made to the parade ground in 1913 to convert it into a menage for the Lincolnshire Territorial Forces Association. {1}{2}
