Description

Archaeological recording and monitoring was carried out during groundworks for the construction of new welfare facilities within the western part of the churchyard and the west tower and store room of the church. Six burials were partially exposed and the human remains re-interred elsewhere in the churchyard. Other features recorded include stone foundations that pre-date the existing tower, and sherds of residual Saxon pottery. {1}{2}
