Twenty one trial trenches were excavated in advance of proposed development on land at Tollemache Road, Spittlegate, Grantham. Iron Age features were recorded, including a number of enclosure ditches, an iron smelting furnace and a circular pit. No evidence was recorded of the previously identified cropmark features on this site. {1}{2}
