Description
SUMMER HILL 1. 5315 (East Side) Summer Hill House (Formerly listed as Summer Hill, under Summer Hill Road) SK 8390 6/27 4.4.64. II GV2. Late C18. Pump behind house dated 1780. Brick with hipped slate roof, whitewashed roughcast front. 2 storeys with bands between storeys, moulded cornice, blocking course. 2 full-height shallow segmental bows with windows of 3 lights in shallow reveals, reeded wood mullions with consoles. Centre window to 1st floor with glazing bars. Central porch up stone steps has fluted Roman Doric order with no architrave, fluted frieze, dentil and modillion cornice. Panelled archway to door and excellent traceried frieze. Lodge to Summer Hill House and Summer Hill House form a group. Listing NGR: SK8226890091
