Description
TF 1088-1188 WILLINGHAM ROAD 2/48 (south side) De Aston School Headmaster's House II 1863 by James Fowler. Victorian Gothic red brick house with blue brick stringcourses and polychromatic dressings. Steep pitched slate roof. Main facade 3 bay 3 storey with single bay projecting gable at one side with square bay at ground floor and angle bay above. Single top floor window. All windows have stone transoms and mullions with flat pointed arches above with polychromatic voussoirs over and herringbone tile infill. Central porch under buttress to gable, polychromatic pointed arch, with original pointed door and iron hinges. Garden facade has similar single gable with ground floor twin windows with buttress between supporting oriel above. Back facade has single projecting modern bay window. Connected at fourth facade to much mutilated contemporary school buildings. Listing NGR: TF1147188708
