Description
LEA ROAD 1. 5315 (West Side) No 2 SK 8189 2/81 II GV 2. Early C19. 2 storeys in red brick with hipped Welsh slate roof with 2 brick stacks. Moulded wood eaves cornice. 3 windows, later hung sashes with glazing bars, segmental arches, stone lintels and band at cills. Ground floor has 2 segmental bay windows (probably modern) with plain pilasters, hung sashes with glazing bars, band at cills. Central Doric doorcase with fluted columns and open pediment (possibly modern). Door of 6 fielded panels and radiating fanlight. Side elevation in brown brick. Small rendered attached wall with iron railing. No 2 Lea Road forms a group with Gainsborough Bridge, Bridge Road and the former Toll Lodges to Gainsborough Bridge to north and south sides of east end of the bridge, Bridge Road.
