Description
TA OO NE BIGBY MAIN STREET (West Side) 4/1 The Old Post Office II Cottage, 1800 with later C19 additions to rear. Coursed chalk rubble, brick, render, pantiled roof with off centre ridge stack, lobby entry plan. Single storey with attics, 3 bay rendered front with off centre plank door, flanked by single glazing bar Yorkshire sashes. All ground floor openings have segmental heads. Above 3 dormers at eaves level with 2 light 3 pane casements, sloping roofs and plain tiled sides. Gable end has brick base and quoins to coursed chalk rubble wall. One ground floor 2 light and one central first floor similar window, inserted, with brick surround. At high level above this is a datestone inscribed, 'AD MDCCC'. Listing NGR: TA0588407146
