Description
EDENHAM MAIN STREET TF 02 SW Grimsthorpe (south side) 6/147 Grimsthorpe Lodge Cottage G.V. II Lodge cottage. 1897. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar side front, Collyweston slate roof, single gable and ridge stone stacks with cornices. Single storey with garret, single bay ashlar front with angle buttresses and castellated top. Central planked door recessed in 4 centred chamfered arched opening, with hood mould. Above a small 2 light window, 4 centred arched heads to lights, recessed in chamfered square surround. To roadside a single canted bay window, glazing bar lights, flat lead top. This lodge was built when the new drive was created to mark Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1897. Listing NGR: TF0457723033
