Description
HIGH STREET 1. 1146 (West Side) Nos. 54 to 56 (consec) SK 9135 NW 8/290 II 2. Mid C19. Bank architecture. Three storeys in ashlar. Moulded cornice Five windows. Top floor windows of two round-arched lights in round arch with keystone. Carved band at impost height. First floor windows under broad ornamented band, pedimented over centre window. Ground floor channelled rustication. Seven round-arched openings below carved band and cornice. Cornice above end openings, which are doorways, breaks forward slightly on carved consoles. Two end sections slightly set back of three storeys, two windows. Rusticated outer quoins. Top floor windows plain; segmental arches on first floor with keystone and terminals, band continues cills. Modern ground floor shop fronts. Listing NGR: SK9139535771
