HARLAXTON SK8832 HIGH STREET 1315-0/14/198 (East side) 24/09/79 Gateway to The Forge (No.77) (Formerly Listed as: SWINE HILL Gateway to front of the Forge) GV II Gateway. Early C19. Ashlar. Buttressed square piers carrying a flat gable with cornice and double chamfered coping with hipped ends. Probably originally had finials, which are now missing. Flat headed recess containing segment arched opening with a pair of small C19 wrought-iron gates. Probably an architectural feature introduced by Gregory Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton, c1820-1840. Listing NGR: SK8851732548
