STF 07 NW NETTLEHAM NORTH STREET (south side) 5/55 No.11, (Walnut Farm house) barn and 20.3.85 Stables G.V. II Incorrectly shown as Chapel Lane on OS map. Farmhouse, stable, barn. Late C17 with early C19 alterations and minor C20 addition. Coursed squared limestone rubble, lime washed, with pantile roof having raised brick coped gables to house, and 2 brick gable and a single ridge stacks. The stable block links barn to house. Single storey with attics, having a 4 bay garden front with off centre 4 panelled door with to right a planked door covered by C20 glazed conservatory. To left are 2 glazing bar sliding sashes. All openings have timber lintels. Above are 3 dormers with glazing bar sliding sashes, planked cheeks and sloping roofs. The road elevation has 3 sliding glazing bar sashes with timber lintels and above 1 dormer window. The single storey 2 bay stables has a single bay outshot and 2 planked doors that on left being a stable door. The C17 roof is of clasped purlin construction. It has 2 stables with mangers, hayracks and halter pegs. The C18 barn has an off centre planked door with timber lintel and a vertical breather. The roof has 2 original ties but the remainder is of C19 clasped purlin construction. Listing NGR: TF0072675512
