Description
SK 94 SW CARLTON SCROOP MAIN STREET 5/23 The Old Rectory G.V. II House, formerly rectory. Early C17 with C18, C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Coursed ironstone and limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings; pantile roof with stone coped gables and one gable stack. T plan. Two storey with attic. 4 bay facade, evidence of earlier now blocked openings with projecting stack to left of front. C20 door to left with C19 stone lintel. To right one small C20 top hung glazing bar casement flanked by two light glazing bar casements. First floor windows are all two light glazing bar casements. One dormer with sloping roof. C19 single storey kitchen extension to right with stone coped gable and stack with C2O fenestration. In the south gable of late C17 rear wing is a sundial dated 1705. Interior has early C17 stone fireplace with four centred arch in parlour. Listing NGR: SK9485744986
