STOKE ROCHFORD STOKE ROCHFORD PARK SK 92 NW 6/165 Seats, balustrades and terraces to east of Stoke Rochford Hall G.V. I Seats, balustrades and terraces. 1841-5. By William Burn for Sir Christopher Turnor. Ashlar. To the east of the house are upper and lower terraces with parterre to the south. At the south end of the main terrace is a gargantuan stone seat with panelled back, scrolled arm rests and large orb finials. 2 pairs of stone steps link the terraces and to the lower side are panelled parapets linked by open balustrades, all with square panelled piers and continuously moulded copings. At the south end of the lower terrace is a lesser seat supported on moulded corbels. The terraces overlook the picturesquely wooded valley of the Witham and retain their original landscape setting.
