Description
EASTON EASTON PARK SK 92 NW Bridge on west side 6/82 of Kitchen Garden, over River Witham G.V. II Footbridge over River Witham. c.1840. Ashlar bridge of 2 basket arches with triangular central cutwater. The walkway is ramped up with a set of steps to the left. At the centre are corbelled out central bays with plaque. The sides have a pierced balustrade with strapwork design with, at either end, tall square pillars with cornices surmounted by orbs. At the base of the steps are 2 urns. Built as part of the formal garden of Easton Hall, seat of the Cholmeley family. Listing NGR: SK9265326629
