Description
SK 9248-9348 CAYTHORPE CHURCH LANE (north side) 8/43 Pigeoncote at Home Farm G.V. II Pigeoncote; C18 with C19 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, hipped pantiled roof capped by open cupola with shaped lead roof. 2 storeys. Square plan. In the south side are 2 broad waggon arches with flat timber lintels and separated by a square brick pier. Above the left hand arch is a square hole with a segmental brick head containing a timber panel with two tiers of double flight holes with perches in front. Inside, the upper floor is reached by a ladder from below, and the upper walls are lined with 223 brick nest boxes. Listing NGR: SK9382848643
