Description
CORBY GLEN IRNHAM ROAD SK 9825-9925 (north west side) No.5 (Harwoods, Builders) 12/91 G.V. II Former public house, now house. C17 with early C19 alterations. Colourwashed coursed limestone rubble with pantile steeply pitched roof, one raised stone coped gable with single gable and ridge stacks retaining ashlar bases, but with brick shafts. Lobby entry plan. Single storey with attics, 5 bay front, having off-centre panelled door with to right a similar doorway. To left a sliding glazing bar sash, a half glazed door and a plain sash. Above are 2 through eaves gabled dormers with 2 light glazing bar casements and another similar dormer at eaves level, all with rendered cheeks. Street gable elevation has single sliding glazing bar sashes to each floor. All openings have timber lintels. Attached to the rear a C17 service block, originally a catslide but raised and separately gabled roof in early C19. 2 bays and 2 storeys, with pantile roof and single ashlar wall stack with yellow brick top. In the side wall is a plain 2 ight casement to ground floor with to left a C17 pierced larder vent stone. To first floor a further 2 light plain casement and to right a similar window with glazing bars. Interior retains simply chamfered girders. Listing NGR: SK9978725375
