Description
ASLACKBY AND off TEMPLE STREET TF 03 SE LAUGHTON (south side) 3/16 Manor Farmhouse 4.12.85 II Farmhouse. Mid C17 with mid C18 and early C19 alterations. Red brick, some limestone rubble, some render. Pantile roofs with brick coped gables, gable stacks and single ridge stack to rear. T-plan. 2 storey, 3 bay front with coursed limestone rubble and brick plinth and decorated eaves. Central doorway with overlight, brick wedge lintel and partially glazed door. Doorway flanked by single glazing bar sashes. 2 similar windows above flank single glazing bar sash. All the windows have brick wedge lintels, that over the door with a small ogee arch to the underside. Rear elevation has 2 C17 windows with brick drip moulds. North gable end with brick band underneath render. These features suggest that the house was originally built in the C17 Fen Artisan Mannerist style, which complements Aslackby Manor House. To north, a C19 slate roofed lean-to. Listing NGR: TF0884430515
