Description
TF 03 SW INGOLDSBY MAIN STREET (South side) 6/24 Post Office II Cottage, House and Shop; late C17, with major addition of 1871 and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, slate roof with 2 gable and single ridge brick stacks; pantile roof with one stone coped gable and off centre brick stack. Parallel range, rear being C17 lobby entry cottage, front range being 1871 house and shop. Two storey front of 3 bays with central 6 panelled door with fanlight having painted tracery. Stone door surround with pyramid imposts and keystone. To right a good C19 shop front with central half glazed panelled door with overlight flanked by 3 light,with transome and slightly rounded tops,shop windows, the 3 elements marked by 4 pilasters from which spring moulded consoles supporting slight canopy. To left is C20 3 light casement. High above house door is datestone "AD1871" The 4 1st floor windows are glazing bar sash with flat stone lintel and raised keystone, the stone cills are on block brackets. The slate roof has exposed rafters. The single storey with attics rear block has C19 4 panelled off centre door and C20 fenestration with pantile roof. Listing NGR: TF0127830085
