EDENHAM MAIN STREET TF 02 SE (east side) 7/136 Tomb at east end of Church of St.Michael (Hon. Elizabeth Susan Willougby) G.V. II Tomb chest and canopy. 1853. Ashlar, polished pink marble. The tomb chest lies within a gabled and arcaded canopy in the Gothic style, it has heraldic lozenges set in cusped panels to the sides, a quatrefoil frieze to the base and fleurons to the cornice. Along the top runs the inscription commemorating the deceased, the Hon. Elizabeth Susan Willoughby. The arcades have pointed arches set on circular marble columns, annular capitals with continuous hood moulds with human head and floriate stops. The ashlar roof is lined to represent stone slates, and in the gables are single quatrefoils set in circles. The gable and eaves are decorated with ballflower ornament. Listing NGR: TF0624021835
