Description
HARLAXTON SWINE HILL SK8832 1315-0/14/211 (East side) No.3 Bede Cottages GV II Cottage. c1800, extended early C19. Coursed squared stone with brick quoins and pantile roof. Brick ridge and gable stacks with coped double octagonal flues, and ball finial to south gable. Single storey; 5 window range. 3 unequally spaced 3-light windows with stone mullions and surrounds, cornices and diamond pane glazing. Between the pair to left, a smaller single light window. To left again, a lean-to addition with a reglazed window in a stone surround. This building is probably one of those rebuilt c1790-1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
