Description
BARROWBY SK8736 CHURCH STREET 1315-0/12/20 (North side) 18/09/79 Malting House GV II House. Early C17, with C19 addition and late C20 alterations. Coursed stone, rendered and painted, with ashlar dressings and steep pitched pantile roof with central brick ridge stack. Rendered plinth, coped gable to street, with kneelers. 2 storeys plus garrets; 2 window range. Facing gable has a 3-light stone mullioned window with cornice, to first floor and garret, the garret window blank. Below, a similar 4-light window. Right corner has corbelled first floor. Left return has two C20 2-light casements. Below, a 4-light and a 3-light window with chamfered stone mullions. Right return has a 2 storey lean-to addition with a 2-light casement, and below, a door with pantiled hood on brackets, inserted in a stone window surround. All late C20.
