Description
HARLAXTON SK8832 HIGH STREET 1315-0/14/202 (East side) 24/09/79 Willow Cottage (Formerly Listed as: HIGH STREET No.22 Willow Cottage) II House. Mid C18, altered c1800 and remodelled c1830, with late C20 alterations. Brick and coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and concrete tile roof. 2 corbelled brick gable stacks with coped square double stone flues. Coped gables. 2 storeys; 2 window range of C20 wooden framed 3-light casements. Those to the ground floor are larger. Central 2 storey timber framed gabled porch covering a gable headed board door. Left return, largely rebuilt late C20, has to right a single light window with stone surround and cornice. This building is probably one of those refronted c1790-1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
