Description
1. 878 MARKET PLACE (East Side) No 10 (Lloyd's Bank) No 12 (Post Office) TF 0920 1/152 II 2. Right-hand section of Lloyd's Bank is of one build with the Burghley Arms (gv). 2 storeys, ashlar fronted, with stone cornice and 1 dormer. Rusticated quoins. 1 6-light window on each floor. Left=hand section is one build with the Post Office, but has been refronted in the "Lloyd's Bank" style of the early years of this century. Ashlar. Stone slate roof. 1 10-light window on each floor. Building has bowed section to right with balustraded parapet over window. Left- hand section of building has moulded gable with 1 2-light mullion window. 1st floor has 2 4-light windows. Moulded string between storeys. Post Office has 3 storeys and 2 gabled dormers. Moulded cornice and string above 3 windows of 4 lights. C19 features. 3 modern windows on ground floor. Modern door. Listed solely as a visual group with the Burghley Arms (gv).
