Possibly by Jeffry Wyatville. Red brick with hipped slate roofs. Central concrete block ridge stack and smaller brick rear wall stack. 2 storeys; 1 x 3 bays. Windows are mainly glazing bar sashes, some with slight segmental heads. Central block has a 9-pane sash above and a 16-pane sash below. On either side, a single storey hipped porch running the whole length of the block, with a blocked doorway to the front. Right return has three 16-pane sashes flanked by smaller 2-light casements. To left, a board door. Left return has a hipped projection to left, with a segment headed 12-pane sash. To right, a C20 French window, then a segment headed 12-pane sash. An estate cottage provided for workers on the Belton estate by the Brownlow family of Belton House. The building has some resemblance to Waterloo Cottages (qv), which are definitely by Wyatville.
