Description
HARLAXTON SK8832 HIGH STREET 1315-0/14/183 (East side) 24/09/79 No.21 The Timbers II House. Late C18, remodelled c1830, with late C20 alterations. Brick with ashlar dressings and concrete tile roof. 2 brick gable stacks with coped octagonal double stacks. Dentillated eaves. 2 storeys; 3 window range. Windows are mainly stone mullioned 2-light casements. Those to the ground floor are larger and have cornices. Central 2 storey timber framed gabled porch with rendered nogging and decorative timberwork. Jettied first floor has a 2-light casement with wooden mullion. Below, a C20 board door. This building is one of those built or altered c1790-1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style c1820-1840 by Gregory Gregory, successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
