BELTON & MANTHORPE SK9137 HIGH ROAD, Manthorpe 1315-0/10/114 (West side) 21/09/79 Wash house, boundary wall and railing between Nos.6 and 7 High Road (Formerly Listed as: HIGH ROAD, Manthorpe Wash House and Well Head between Nos.6 and 7) GV II Wash house, adjoining boundary wall and railing. Mid C19, restored 1990. Brick with pantile roof and a coped brick ridge stack with triangular ribs. Single cell. Board door with brick flat arch and label mould. Above it, a ventilator. On either side, a wire railing, linking the wash house to the roadside boundary wall. Rubble boundary wall has brick coping and central wrought-iron gate with gabled capstones each side. A utility building provided for workers on the Belton estate by the Brownlow family of Belton House. (The Buildings of England: Pevsner N, Harris J & Antram N: Lincolnshire: London: 1964-1989: 550).
