Description

1. 1671 ST PAUL'S STREET (South Side) No 30 (Clapton House) TF 0307 1/309 22.5.54. II* GV 2. Mid C18. 2 storeys and attics in coursed rubble. Larger stones at quoins and to window surrounds. Roof of stone slates with 2 gabled dormers, Stone chimney. 4 windows, double-hung sashes with glazing bars with wood lintels. The door space is blocked, and the whole combined with the next building (former No 28), which is of 2 storeys in coursed rubble with stone quoins, 3 windows, hung sashes with glazing bars under wood lintels. C19 door of 3 panels, one glass, rectangular fanlight, wood lintel, moulded wood frame. Brazenose College Gate and retaining walls, 2 barns to the east of No 28, Brazenose School House, and Nos 30 to 33 (consec) form a group. Listing NGR: TF0328807310
