Description
IRNHAM SWINSTEAD ROAD TF 02 NW (west side) 3/190 Shuttlecock Lodge, gateway and store II Lodge, gateway and store. c.1830, possibly by Joseph Ireland. Squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. Collyweston slate roofs, single stone wall stack. Cast iron ogee latticed gates and flanking screens have square panelled piers with embattled tops. to left a square store block, single storey, single bay with 2 light top hung iron casement window. To the rear left corner is a taller tower, all with embattled parapets and cornice. The main block to the right is 2 storey, irregular 2 bay front with to left a small rectangular fixed light to lower entrance bay and to right a 2 light window. To first floor a similar window. Windows are mullioned with moulded hoods. To right of front is an attached octagonal tower. All with embattled parapets and cornice. To left side front the entrance doorway has a pointed arched surround with moulded hood, beyond is a canted mullioned bay window with hipped limestone roof. Listing NGR: TF0256225860
