BITCHFIELD AND BASSINGTHORPE Bitchfield MAIN STREET (west side) Manor House and attached outbuilding to roadside front SK 92 NE 2/11 G.V. Grade II Farmhouse and outbuildings. C16, remodelled C19 plus C19 addition. Squared coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings, slate roofs having reused stone coped gables and 2 ashlar gable stacks with moulded cornices. Parallel ranges. 2 storey, 3 bay front having central glazed door with overlight, flanked by single 4 light windows. To first floor are 3 three light windows. To the side front is a 4 light window to the ground floor and 2 three light windows above. All windows have chamfered mullions with moulded surrounds and hoods. On the back wall are 4 closely set ashlar shafts with continuous moulded cornice. To rear a single storey outbuilding with pantile roof, single brick ridge stack and blocked doorway.
