Description
SK 83 NE GREAT GONERBY GREEN STREET (north side) 7/29 No. 20 (Sutton Lodge) 21.9.79 II House with attached barn, now house. 1721, C19, C20. Coursed rubble ironstone with limestone ashlar quoins. Concrete tiled roof with single, large C20 brick ridge stack, and one rectangular skylight. 2 storey and attic, irregular fenestration. Ashlar dressed rubble plinth. Doorway towards the north of east front with plain stone doorcase with heavy rectangular head and C20 partially glazed door. To the north, a sliding sash under a wood lintel, to the south a sash window with 2 mullions and large stone lintel, 1st floor, to the north, 2 sliding sashes under wood lintels, a large dormer window to the south with a glazing bar sash and further south, a small rectangular casement. South return has single post-1860 glazing bar sash window with another above, with a painted stone lintel. In the gable above, a datestone inscribed "Rob. Lynn, 1721" referring to the original house and barn. Listing NGR: SK8952138419
