Description
SK 87 NW FENTON MALTKILN ROAD (west side) 2/28 No.1 and low garden wall II House and low garden wall. c.1800. Red brick, slightly pale headers in Flemish bond, pantiled roof with raised brick coped gables having 2 gable stacks. L-plan. 2 storey 3 bay front with first floor band and dentillated eaves course. The central bay is slightly advanced. A central 6 panelled door with plain overlight covered by C20 wooden porch, flanked by single glazing bar sashes with 3 similar windows to first floor. To front of house is a low brick wall with rounded top, the side walls are ramped to join the house. To the rear right hand side is a lower 2 storey 2 bay wing and a single storey 2 bay shop, both with brick dentillated eaves and brick coped gables. A segmental headed doorway has to the right a 2 light glazing bar sliding sash and above a smaller similar window to eaves. The shop has a plain door with barred overlight and a 4 paned sash shop window, both with moulded wooden surrounds and 4 carved brackets supporting a continuous cornice. Listing NGR: SK8469276610
