Description
TF 03 SW ROPSLEY & HUMBY LITTLE HUMBY Humby 6/66 Old Manor House (formerly listed as Moores 19-2-52 Farm House) II Farm house: c.1631 with 1791 addition and extensive C19 restoration. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins, pantile roof with over- hanging eaves with rendered brick gable wall stacks. 2 storey with attics, 3 bay front with plinth and moulded string course. Central C19 ribbed door with reeded stone surround and slight 4 centre arched head. Over door is a decorative carved panel with 3 fleur de lys and date "1631 WB IB SB", possibly reset. To left a 5 light cavetto moulded mullioned window and a deeper 4 light mullion window with glazing bar casements. Above door is a 3 light mullion window flanked by single 4 light mullion window, all with cornices. In the roof 2 C19 gabled dormers with 3 light mullion windows with leaded lights and cornices. The gables and dormers have barge-boards. To the right a single storey single bay extension with glazing bar 3 light casement with timber lintel. Datestone to rear of 1791. Interior has 2 C17 moulded beams, that in the hall having a deep moulded wall plaque. Listing NGR: TF0030032925
