Description
HARLAXTON SK83SE GRANTHAM ROAD 1315-0/6/162 (North side (off)) Harlaxton Lower Lodge farmhouse II Farmhouse. Dated 1814, with C19 additions and C20 alterations. Brick, partly rendered, with hipped concrete tile roofs. 2 coped ridge stacks and 2 rear wall stacks, all brick. 2 storeys; 3 window range of 6-pane sashes. Openings have segmental brick heads. Central panelled door with overlight, flanked by tall 12-pane sashes. Right return, rendered, 35 windows, has similar regular fenestration. George de Ligne Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton, built many estate buildings in Harlaxton c1780-1820. This building is one of the few farmhouses to survive substantially intact.
