Description
COLSTERWORTH HIGH STREET SK 92 SW (east side) 8/6 No.43 24.9.79 (Acacia Cottage) G.V. II House. C17, with C18 and C20 alterations and addition. Squared limestone rubble, ashlar dressings and quoins, yellow brick. C20 addition, pantile roofs with raised stone coped gables, 2 brick stacks. 2 storey with attic, 3 bay front having to left a projecting lean-to single storey C20 addition containing entrance door, with to left a small light in moulded stone surround and beyond a glazing bar sash set in a larger blocked opening. To first floor a central small light in moulded surround flanked by single large blocked openings. In the roof is a single gabled 2 light dormer with rendered cheeks and leaded lights. To left a lower C17 2 storey single bay wing. To the rear elevation an off centre half glazed door with plain overlight has to left a rectangular bay window with plain sash, to right a pair of C20 French windows and beyond a further bay window. Both bay windows have hipped slate roofs. To first floor are 3 glazing bar sashes with splayed lintels. Dogleg staircase withturned balusters, moulded rail, open string. Moulded and chamfered ceiling beams. Moulded fireplace bressumer. In lower C17 wing stopped and chamfered ceiling beam and exposed joists. Listing NGR: SK9304123985
