Description
TF 04 SE/TF 03 NE ASWARBY AND SWARBY MAIN STREET (North side) 5/16 and 7/16 Nos. 6 and 7 G.V. II Pair of estate cottages. 1845. Built for the Whichcote family of Aswarby Park. Coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, slate roofs having raised stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. Single ridge and a pair of gable stacks with ashlar lozenge twin funnels and stepped cornices. Single storey plus attics 6 bay front having 2 gabled porches with chamfered segmental outer arches bearing the Whichcote cypher and 4 two light windows. In the roof are 4 gabled 2 light through eaves dormers with ashlar cheeks. All windows have chamfered rectangular surrounds, chamfered timber mullions and moulded heads to the ground floor only.
