Description
HECKINGTON HIGH STREET TF 1443-1543 (south side) 11/63 13/5/88 Nos. 87-91 (inc.) II Houses and shop, late C17, altered C19 and C20. Originally of mud and stud, later underbuilt in brick and rendered. Pantiled roof with 2 ridge and single gable stacks. Single storey plus attics, 6 bay front with dentillated eaves course having to left a C20 door with beyond a 3 light plain casement and a 2 light plain sliding sash. To right a 3 light C20 plain casement, a further C20 door and an Art Deco shop window with decorative wood panelled surround. In the roof are 2 dormers, one a 2 light plain casement with segmental leaded roof and cheeks, the other a C20 2 light casement with flat roof and leaded cheeks. Inside the bay posts of the original structure survive, as do the chamfered principal girders. Trapped purlin roof has some sawn softwood members, otherwise larch pole rafters.
