Description
CASTLEGATE 1. (East Side) 1146 No. 49 (Castlegate House) SK 9135 NE 9/11 SK 9136 SE 10/11 II 2. Middle C18. 2-storey with attics, ashlar, slate roof. 5 windows with glazing bars. Lintels with keystones; doorcase has panelled pilasters. Dentilled cornice and shaped flat hood on brackets has been destroyed, but will be copied and replaced. 6-panelled door, plain fanlight; 3 gabled dormers.
