Description
SK 94 NE CAYTHORPE CAYTHORPE HEATH LANE 4/28 Gate and Flanking Walls, Caythorpe Court G.V. II Gates and flanking walls, circa 1900. By Sir R Blomfield. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar and wrought iron. The gateway consists of two partially rusticated square piers surmounted by moulded cornices and large stone balls. The gates themselves are of two leaves with decorative flourishes in a late C17 style. To either side of the entrance are high stone walls with plain copings which terminate at rusticated pillars. This is the principal entrance to Caythorpe Court. Listing NGR: SK9574748375
