Description

In the third amendment of the eighty-second list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest for the District of North Kesteven, the description was amended to read:- TF 05 NE SCOPWICK MAIN STREET Kirkby Green (west side) 1894-0/5/42 Nos 37 and 39 - II Pair of cottages. Early C18 and early C19. Coursed limestone rubble; the end bays on brick plinth and with brick dressings. Steeply-pitched pantile roof with two brick ridge stacks and end stack on right. Single storey; 4-window range. Central blocked doorway flanked by square-headed windows with wooden lintels; outer windows and boarded door to 39 on right have segmental brick arches. The two left hand windows are horizontally-sliding sashes of two 4-pane lights; windows to 39 on right are matching casements. Central blocked doorway flanked by single 2-light sliding sashes with wooden lintels. To the left a single 2-light sliding sash and to the right a plank door and then a 2-light sliding sash all under segment brick heads.
