Description
. SLEAFORD NORTHGATE TF 04 NE 697- /3/10002 No.24 The Marquis of Granby Public House and attached outbuildings GV II Public house. c1700, late C18 and altered c1860. Coursed limestone rubble and brick with ashlar dressings. Slate and pantile roofs. 2 ashlar gable stacks each with a double octagonal shaft, and 4 brick gable stacks. 2 storey. Ashlar quoins and chamfered ashlar plinth. Street front has central doorway with moulded 4-centred arch and plank door. Either side are two 3-light chamfered mullion windows with segmental hoods and linking band. Above an oriel window with 3 central lights, flanked by single light widows, that to the left square, with beyond single 3-light chamfered mullion windows. Above a central gable with a single light window. Rear facades brick with irregular fenestration. Beyond to south a single storey range with a C20 casement, a garage door, then a stable door and a small fixed light, another garage door then a window and a stable door, beyond again a stable door with flanking garage doors.
