Description
ANWICK CHURCH LANE TF 15 SW (east side) 1/4 Old Manor Farm G.V. II Incorrectly described as Manor House on O.S. sheet. House. C16, 1639, altered mid C18 and C20. Limestone ashlar to lower part, coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings above. Pantiled roof, raised stone coped gable, single ashlar gable stack with moulded top and base. 2 storey plus garret irregular 3 bay front with chamfered plinth. To left a reset single top hung casement with 4 centred arched head and sunk spandrels. to right a 2 light glazing bar casement with concrete lintel. To first floor a similar window with to left a 2 light mullioned window with 4 centred arched heads and sunk spandrels. In the right gable is a blocked 3 light window matching the rest. To left a C20 extension which is not included in this listing. Interior: downstairs a fine pointed and deeply chamfered fire surround and a deeply chamfered ceiling girder. Upstairs are mid C18 raised and fielded panelled doors. Oak clasped purlin roof with windbraces, reused principals. Also on an originally external wall a rectangular datestone of 1639.
