LINCOLN SK9771NE TEMPLE GARDENS 1941-1/9/384 (North side) 08/10/53 Garden temple 75m west of Lincolnshire College of Art & Design GV II Garden temple, now office. Early C19. Ashlar with flat roof. Doric style, based on the Choragic Monument of Thrasyllus. Pilastered front, enriched frieze and cornice, coped parapet, broken in the centre of each elevation. Octagonal stack on rear wall. Single storey. Central C20 door with moulded, eared Egyptian architrave and overlight. Above, on the parapet, a seated figure of Niobe. INTERIOR not inspected.
