Description
GREAT PONTON GREAT NORTH ROAD SK 93 SW Great Ponton House 4/100 II Former rectory, now small country house. 1826. Ashlar, with rusticated quoins, hipped slate roof with lead dressings. T- plan. Plinth. 2 storey 3 bay front, the centre bay advanced and pedimented. To ground floor 3 glazing bar sashes. To first floor 3 smaller similar windows. All windows have raised triangular headed flat ashlar lintels. In the gable a recessed oval panel. In the left hand side front a further sash to each floor and a tall semi-circular headed window lighting the stair. In the right hand side a pair of double half glazed doors with large ashlar hood on scrolled stone brackets. The rear service range in squared coursed rubble has 2 light glazing bar casements with Tudor arched heads, under plain ashlar lintels. Shutters retained throughout. Listing NGR: SK9221130903
