Description
TF O1 SE GREATFORD MAIN STREET (north side) 5/89 The Old House G.V. II House. C16, with later C17 addition, with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings. Collyweston slate roof having a triple-shafted red brick ridge stack and a double circular shafted C17 ridge stack with later brick stacks behind. L-plan. Single storey plus attics, 4 bay front, the left hand bay is advanced and gabled. Off-centre C19 panelled door in Caernarvon arched surround set in a pent roofed porch in the angle. To left is a single C19 3 light canted bay mullioned and transomed window with hipped slate roof, to the right a similar wooden bay window with C17 ashlar reveals, and beyond a 3 light casement with leaded panes and timber lintel. On the first floor a C19 3 light mullioned window to left, with to the right are 3 gabled dormers with slate hung cheeks, 2 with C17 3 light mullioned windows and cornices, one with 2 light wooden casements. Interior has chamfered beams, one with neat ogee and roll stop. Some C18 dado panelling. Listing NGR: TF0894511945
